Alan Johnson

Alan Johnson is the Deputy Chair of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and a Non-executive Director to the Board of the UK Government's Department for International Development (DiFID).

He has recently finished his term as a non-executive Director of Jerónimo Martins SGPS, SA, a food retailer with operations in Portugal, Poland, and Colombia. He chairs Jerónimo Martins’ Internal Control Committee. He was Chief Financial Officer of the company from 2012 to 2014.

Between 2005 and 2011 he served as Chief Audit Executive for the Unilever Group. Mr. Johnson also served as Chief Financial Officer of Unilever's Global Foods businesses and worked for Unilever for 35 years in various finance and general management positions in Africa, Europe, and Latin America.

Mr. Johnson was appointed to the Board of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in November 2015, having been a member of IFAC’s Professional Accountants in Business Committee between 2011 and 2015. He is Chair of the ACCA’s Accountants for Business Global Forum, and is on the Board of Governors of St. Julian’s British International School in Portugal.
