Ana Maria Elorrieta

Ana Maria Elorrieta has over 35 years’ experience in accountancy, having been a Partner at PwC in Argentina and Brazil, auditing national and international listed and private companies. She was head of Risk and Quality in South America for the firm from 2003 to 2010 and in Brazil from 1997 to 2012.

Ms Elorrieta has also served on the Board of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB). She has acted in different capacities at the Brazil Federal Accounting Council and as chairwoman of the Brazilian Institute of Independent Accountants.

Ms Elorrieta is currently very active in corporate governance in Brazil and has been a board member of public company and audit committee member of private company and not-for-profit organisations.

In 2013 Ms Elorrieta was listed by the International Accounting Bulletin as one of the 50 most powerful people in the accounting profession. She has been recognised several times for her work for the accountancy profession in Brazil.
