Toshiyuki Kitano is a Director at KPMG AZSA LLC, leading market and liquidity risk advisory. Since his participation in the firm in 2009, he has been focusing on financial instruments valuation and risk management. His specialty is in technical and regulatory aspects of valuation and risk models. From 2015 to 2017, He was transferred to KPMG US’s risk consulting, belonging to the same practice in its New York office.

Toshiyuki started his career in technology and risk management at a Japanese bank, followed by the service at a global rating agency as a rating analyst. He then moved to fixed income of a global investment bank, responsible for pricing/structuring of complex financial instruments.

In addition to that as market participants, Toshiyuki also has experience as a regulator at Japanese Financial Services Agency (JFSA) and Securities Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC). While his focus at the agent was valuation and regulatory risk models of global investment banks, he was also a member of Standards Implementation Group Trading Book Subgroup in Basel Committee of Banking Supervision.

Toshiyuki is an adjunct lecturer at Hitotsubashi University Business School, teaching financial risk analytics. He is the supervisory translator of “xVA Challenge” Japanese edition.
