Chris Stanley

Chris Stanley is a Fellow of the Property Institute of New Zealand, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, and is a Registered Public Valuer.

He is a Director of Telfer Young Canterbury and Chair of the Telfer Young Group. Chris has over 30 years’ experience in the valuation of commercial, industrial and special purpose real estate throughout New Zealand. He has acted as an advisor to local government, central government and many major commercial organisations and public listed companies.

Chris also has considerable experience as an expert witness, umpire and arbitrator. Chris was appointed by the Office of Treaty Settlements as an umpire in relation to the Ngai Tahu Treaty claim. Chris has had a number of other public appointments including serving on the North Canterbury Land Valuation Tribunal, expert advisor to the New Zealand Commerce Commission on airport land valuations, Crown Valuer for the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, and Chair of the Expert Valuers Panel for review of compulsory acquisition valuations following the Christchurch Earthquakes.

Chris is a Past President of the Property Institute of New Zealand, past chairman of the Property Institute of New Zealand Valuation and Property Standards Board and former member of the Australian Property Institute Valuation Standards Board.
