IVSC successfully launches IVS 2017
Last week, we took a significant step towards our goal of harmonising global valuation practice, as we released IVS 2017 - the key guidance for valuation professionals across the world that will underpin consistency, transparency and confidence in valuation.
All Members and Sponsors of IVSC have been given complimentary access to IVS 2017 online.
If you don’t belong to any of our Members or Sponsors, you can access IVS 2017 by subscribing to IVSonline, our newly launched portal for the Standards.
Hard copies are available from our bookshop – click here to access.
A note of thanks
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to shaping and improving the Standards.
Our Standards Board - Steve Sherman, Leigh Miller, Andreas Ohl, Cindy Ma, Ana Castaneda, Raj Brar, Chris Stanley and Paul Hawkes - together with our Standards Directors Alex Aronsohn, Adam Smith and Peter Melvin, dedicated significant time to developing IVS 2017 and particularly deserve our gratitude.
Our thanks also go to all of you who provided input as a Board observer or submitted Comment Letters as part of global consultation on IVS 2017.
IVSC AGM: 2-4 October 2017
Further to discussion with our Mexican hosts INDAABIN, and having received no objections to the new dates as proposed in December’s eNews, we can now confirm that this year’s Advisory Forum, AGM and associated meetings will be held in Mexico City from 2-4 October 2017.
Further details on the programme for these events will be provided in due course, including whether there will be any additional events organised alongside the AGM.
IVSC signs agreement with WAVO
In November last year Sir David Tweedie, Chair of the IVSC Board of Trustees, and Doctor Lim, Executive President of the World Association of Valuation Organisations (WAVO), signed an agreement between the two organisations, whereby WAVO will support the IVSC by providing education and training on International Valuation Standards.
We are very much looking forward to working together with WAVO towards our goal of setting a globally accepted set of International Valuation Standards.
FOIV holds Business Valuation conference in Italy
FOIV, the Italian Valuation Standard Setter and a key sponsor of IVSC, held a successful International Business Valuation Conference at Bocconi University in Milan.
The Conference was led by Mauro Bini and included notable speakers with strong business valuation experience from around the world, including our Standards Director for Business Valuation, Adam Smith.
It was particularly interesting to hear of some of the shared French, German and Italian approaches, which will be put forward for consideration by the IVSC Standards Boards to further enhance IVS in the future.
Announcing new members
We are pleased to welcome two new members to IVSC.
