Dates for the diary
w/c 12 October 2015 – IVSC AGM and associated Board meetings will be held during the week in Paris.
Meetings of the Professional and Standards Boards are open to observers, subject to prior registration via the IVSC website.
REVIEW OF THE CURRENT STANDARDS
Alex Aronsohn and Adam Smith, together with the Standards Board, have prepared a gap analysis on the current standards and proposed future approach. Following the valuable contributions from Chair Steve Sherman and the Standards Board, it has now been shared with the Advisory Forum Working Group following discussion with AFWG Chair John Martin. This will be discussed further at the AFWG meeting on Monday 31 August.
EY secondee Peter Melvin has provided his expertise to start leading the approach to explore FI issues and help define the IVSC’s role. Sir David Tweedie, Ragveer Brar and Nick Talbot have continued to explore some of these issues and the potential FI scope of the IVSC with various key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

PROMOTING THE BENEFITS OF IVS
The IVSC has regular contact with leaders in different countries who are looking to further develop their approach to valuation as they see the importance of consistency, transparency, comparability and ultimately market confidence. Of particular note are Mexico and Taiwan, who are taking major steps to develop their approaches. The IVSC is pleased to be participating in some of the discussions on this and provide IVS and related materials to help.
