Hosted by the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore (IVAS), this session will explore the intricate challenges of valuing financial instruments, a key area in today’s evolving financial landscape. Featuring expert speakers from the IVSC and top global advisory firms, this webinar will provide insights into cutting-edge practices, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the APAC region.

Loh Yee Chuan, CVA
Partner, Corporate Finance, Deal Advisory

Yee Chuan specialises in valuations in the corporate finance practice. He leads a team of quants, focusing on the valuations of complex securities and instruments issued by start-up companies to venture capital and private equity investors.

He has provided advice and expertise in various areas, including valuations of businesses, financial instruments, and intellectual properties. Valuation services have been provided for transactions, financial reporting, tax, and litigation support purposes.

Yee Chuan also contributes to the valuation industry as a member of the IVAS Standards and Technical Committee.

Kwan Eng Chew, CVA

Kwan Eng brings a unique background in the defence science industry to his role at Ernst & Young Advisory Pte Ltd. Upon joining the firm, he quickly assumed leadership of the Financial Instrument team and successfully transformed it into a highly regarded Quantitative Analytics and Treasury Service serving clients across ASEAN and beyond.

With extensive experience in valuing derivatives, structured transactions, credit risk, and portfolio valuation for private funds, Kwan Eng is well-versed in various financial domains. He also possesses a strong understanding of digital transformation agenda, policy and operating model design.

Beyond his regular responsibilities, Kwan Eng has made significant contributions to special projects, including the LIBOR trade review and transaction monitoring optimization.

Kwan Eng is a Chartered Valuer and Appraiser, and a Certified International Treasury Management professional. He earned an MSc in Financial Engineering from the National University of Singapore – Risk Management Institute and holds a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College, London.

Andrew brings with him more than 25 years of valuations, capital markets, financial modelling and financial advisory experience in serving local, multinational and listed companies in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region.

Outside of Deloitte, Andrew is also involved in Singapore’s valuation industry, being a member of the IVAS Council from 2018 to 2024 and the IVAS Standards & Technical Committee from 2017 to 2024. He was also previously a member of the IVAS Professional Development Committee which was instrumental in the development of the Singapore Skills Framework for Business Valuation. Andrew is also a member of ISCA’s Financial Reporting Committee Valuation Sub-committee.

Andrew is a Fellow member of ACCA, a Chartered Valuer & Appraiser under IVAS and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Andrew is currently a member of International Valuation Standard Council’s Financial Instruments Board.

Andrew is listed by Intellectual Property Office of Singapore as an Intellectual Property Valuation technical expert witness.

Nicolas Konialidis, CFA, CVA
Asia Director & Technical Director of Business Valuation & Intangible Assets Board
International Valuation Standards Council

Nicolas Konialidis is the Director (Asia) of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). He is also the technical director of the IVSC’s Business Valuation Board. He has three decades of experience in capital markets, corporate finance, and valuations.

Nicolas was previously the Managing Director at a consultancy specialized in advising, valuing, and transacting in intangible assets.

Between 2010 and 2017, Nicolas was a corporate finance advisor and Investor Relations officer for corporate clients in several industries, including Renewable Energy.

From 1994 to 2010, Nicolas spent sixteen years in equity markets in Paris, London, New York, and San Francisco in an array of functions from trading to Institutional sales for firms such as SE Banken (Enskilda), Credit Agricole and Sanford C. Bernstein, a subsidiary of AllianceBernstein.

Nicolas is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA). He is an Associate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA-BV).

He has lived in Singapore since 2009.
