IVSC member and sponsor organisation, CBV Institute, has today published a new Bridge Guide aimed at supporting business valuers in their use of International Valuation Standards (IVS).  The new guide is the result of an extensive and collaborative project between the two organisations and seeks to empower valuers with the tools they need to provide valuations which are in compliance with both the CBV Institute Practice Standards and the IVS.

CBV Institute is engaged in a worldwide consultation process, led by the IVSC towards adoption of a global set of universal valuation standards. They are working with organisations across the IVSC member network to build trust in valuation by establishing one set of globally consistent, high quality valuation standards.

The Bridge Guide identifies that existing CBV Institute Practice Standards are already largely consistent with IVS.  It also facilitates CBVs wishing to carry out business valuations in line with IVS. This is of particular benefit to CBVs that operate across international markets and with international clients who are increasingly requiring IVS-compliant valuations.

With the publication of this Bridge Guide, CBV Institute now moves forward to a process of broader adoption consultations with its members and other stakeholders in Canada and worldwide.
